Karen and I are Both certified SKYWARN spotters, on Maui and in Oregon.
LEFT: The rack to the left sends out LIVE Weather reports,
updates every 5 min., and also APRS Traffic.
APRS is a system used by HAM operators to monitor stations, and Vehicles, and show there location on a
map. APRS takes data from a GPS and sends the information via radio to an IGATE, like the one shown, and then places that
info on the internet.
Weather info is also
broadcast LIVE from this unit and is used by the National Weather Service.
